[Nostalgic Treasures] [TC Swingin' Hepcats]
Our tshirt has a bright yellow sun on the front with the exclamation Dance and Shine! and the inspiring Irish Proverb on the back. Sing...Live every day as if it were your last! We will keep this tshirt at an affordable price with the hope to spread this happy message! Designed during the week of September 11, 2001, the words have special meaning for me, and perhaps for you as well.
Since December 8, 1999, a small portion of
TC Swingin' Hepcats' and Nostalgic
Treasures' gross profit has gone to the
Rape and Sexual Abuse Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Payments are made on a quarterly basis.
From their website: RSAC was established by the Neighborhood Involvement
Program in 1972 as one of the first rape centers in the country. Our primary
purpose remains the same today: providing affordable, accessible, qualified
assistance to victims of sexual assault and abuse. In addition, RSAC is
a firm believer that education and understanding are critical to preventing
and breaking the cycle of trauma. This is why we continue to strongly
support education programs in our community and schools. Through the dedication
of our trained staff, we've been able to help thousands of individuals
begin the healing process from sexual violence.
This is a page in progress on dancing
and healing.... If you have any items you would like to see here or if
you have any stories you would like to tell about how swing dance or other
kinds of dance has changed your life, please let us know.
Why do you dance? How does it make you feel? And why do you think that
is? Is it something special about swing dance compared to other kinds
of dance? Or please just share about how dance in general has affected
your life.
Living Eulogy
she
danced.
she sang. she took.
she gave.
she served.
she loved.
she created.
she dissented. she
enlivened.
she saw. she grew. she
sweated.
she changed.
she learned. she laughed.
she shed
her skin,
she bled on the pages of her days,
she walked
through walls,
she lived with intention.
